Board Certified Behavior Analyst
School Psychologist Amy Ash is a School Psychologist and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Parenting her own differently-abled children has shaped how Amy approaches her work, as she knows first-hand how challenging this journey can be. This enables her to forge strong, trusting relationships with parents and families.
Amy has a wealth of experience administering cognitive assessments, developing IEPs, providing individual and group counseling services, and implementing social skills training as a School Psychologist. She brings this together with her in-depth knowledge of applied behavior analytic principles to support children with executive functioning, social, and behavioral challenges. Amy creates thoughtful interventions which help to decrease problematic behavior while increasing more appropriate, functional behaviors. Amy has received additional training on how to Implement two types of Acceptance and Commitment Training (ACT) programs specifically geared toward children and adolescents: DNA-V and ACT for Treating Children. These evidence-based interventions have helped Amy to broaden her approach with her clients to promote their psychological flexibility, overall awareness, and mindfulness skills, which lead to meaning changes in behavior.
